What is 18k gold plating?

Our jewelry typically uses copper as a base. This base material undergoes an electrolysis (or electroplating) process to receive the gold plating that gives it the designation 'gold plated'.

At Arabika Jewelry, we apply an 18-karat gold layer with a thickness of 3 microns (or 5 microns on pieces with stones), meeting and exceeding the minimum required.

This 18K gold plating guarantees the quality and durability of the jewelry: you can wear it daily, in the shower, or while playing sports. However, we recommend avoiding direct contact with perfumes and all types of cosmetics .

This alloy is key, as pure silver is soft; by adding copper, we achieve the essential strength to create jewelry that lasts a lifetime.
